We use design thinking to create and enhance value at all stages of the design and build process.
Exterior Yacht Design
Exterior Yacht Design is a complex art of balancing proportion and space to create forms and styles that are graceful and timeless not fashionable or forced. All this without compromising the interior arrangement, practicality, functionality, safety or buildability of the yacht.
With decades of experience packaging and styling award winning yachts, this is where Salt’s creativity, knowledge and experience are invaluable.
Interior Yacht Design
Interior Yacht Design starts with the arrangement, connecting areas of sociability and privacy with effortless flow. Then blending natural light with a sympathetic palette of colours and materials to create environments of peace and tranquility in harmony with the exterior.
We are passionate about interior design soaking up inspiration from industries such as residential, hotel and automotive. Immersing ourselves in sourcing the perfect materials to compliment the design language and budget of the client.
Concept Design
Using the foundations of the discover and define phases of the Design Thinking process the yacht design project now starts to take form, bringing together designers, engineers and naval architects to create options for the client to consider with line plans and sketches.
2D and 3D CAD
With the concept design narrowed down the project progresses to 2D CAD to assess geometry, space and packaging allowing the client to gain more insight into the project while not being afraid to adapt and hone the design. 3D CAD is where the project comes alive, seeing every aspect of the design in detail, to ensure all social and technical spaces work in harmony.
Furniture and Upholstery
From galleys to settees Salt can package and style each component ready for handover for production detailing to either our in-house team, the client’s team or a nominated supplier.
Renderings and Virtual Reality
Renderings are a vital communication tool that can help visualise the result before project construction commences. Virtual Reality is a highly immersive visual aid that can provide clarity at various stages of the project. From reviewing access to services within an engineering space in the embryonic phase of 3D generation to being used as a sales tool to help customers understand and personalise the design.
